Right now, things are a bit mixed up in the education world in Sindh, where the folks in charge don’t have a lot of experience. This is causing some trouble, especially in announcing test results for students in Karachi—around 200,000 of them in grades 9 and 11.

In Karachi, they still haven’t told us how the students in grade 9 did in their exams, and they’re figuring out what to do with the results for grade 11. The people in charge keep changing things a lot, and this is making the students worried. To make it even trickier, there’s some talk about the upcoming elections causing more delays.

So, back in May 2023, students in grades 9 and 10 took their yearly exams, and a bit later, in July, the ones in grade 11 did too. But guess what? They haven’t shared the results for grade 9 yet, and the results for grade 11 are still not ready.

Some say the results for grade 9 are ready, but there’s a hiccup. They need some people (called invigilators) to sign off on them, and there aren’t enough around. Also, the government decided not to have invigilator exams, which adds to the trouble. It’s been a whole month, and they still haven’t picked someone to be in charge, causing even more delay.

The head of the education board in Karachi knows about this mess, but because of some unanswered questions and issues, they can’t give out the results, even though they’re ready.

Now, about 100,000 kids in Karachi are really eager to know how they did in grade 9, and it’s been seven long months of not knowing. They’re worried about what classes to take next and what happens if they didn’t pass.

Over at the board in Karachi, the person in charge is making some changes to try and fix things. But, the results for all the different subjects in grade 11 are taking a while, making the first-year students even more stressed. They’re still looking at the exams for different subjects, like English, and they’re not sure when they’ll finish checking the Commerce Regular subjects.

To top it off, the extra tests planned for January 15, 2024, might get mixed up because there are big elections coming up on February 8. If the extra tests get delayed, it could mess up plans for students waiting to hear about their first-year results.
